NIC Bank has signed strategic partnerships to become an agent for M-PESA, MoneyGram and Western Union in a bid to reach more Retail and SME customers across its branch network.
The partnership with Safaricom’s M-PESA has seen the bank become a super-agent. The partnership will see NIC Bank offer transactional services including purchasing of float to M-PESA agents.
In addition, Kenyans can now walk into any NIC banking hall and carry out MoneyGram and Western Union transactions.
“This partnership is in line with the banks strategic agenda to grow our customer base, both across Retail and SME segments by offering a wide range of products and services. It also positions us to grow our diaspora proposition and tap to the growing remittances into Kenya through MoneyGram and Western Union,” said NIC Bank Group Managing Director John Gachora.
NIC’s new solutions are part of the Bank’s three year strategy to become a one-stop shop proposition, offering convenience in line with its Move to Now philosophy, which caters for customers on the go who are looking for easier, faster and convenient banking.
NIC Bank prides itself as an innovative bank. Last year it launched the NIC NOW a philosophy in which its extensive online and mobile platforms are built on. These enable customers to do their banking at their comfort from the palm of their hand.
