NIC Bank partnered with Edumed Trust Kenya to support secondary school students across the country. The bank donated Ksh 450,000 which will go towards supporting students through their four years of secondary schooling. The donation is part of the bank’s citizenship agenda aimed at improving education standards in the country through partnerships with like-minded organisations.
“As a bank we believe in investing in the youth. This is an investment that gives these young men and women an opportunity to be tomorrow’s leaders contributing to the country’s journey towards achieving Vision 2030,” said NIC Bank’s Managing Director John Gachora.
So far, eighty students have benefitted from this initiative. The funds mainly pay school fees for students from difficult backgrounds.
Edumed Trust was established in 1996 and mainly supports secondary school students from different parts of the country. The Trust has supported over 300 students since its inception with 205 of them having already completed their secondary education.
