NIC Bank Group emerged the overall winner of the Champions of Governance Awards at this year’s Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya (ICPSK) 6th edition of the Champions of Governance (COG) Awards.
The Champions of Governance Awards, inaugurated in 2010, annually celebrates organizations and individuals that exhibit the highest standards of practice of good governance, in line with ICPSK’s vision and mission.
The listed bank was also declared the winner in the ‘Finance and Investment Sector’ category in addition to being the 1st runners up in the ‘most improved organization’ category.
NIC Bank’s Group Managing Director John Gachora said the awards were a testament to the banks commitment to operate at the highest standards.
“As a bank we hold ourselves to the highest standards. We have remained consistent in our business delivery and this is seen by the recent awards we have received, they are a testament to our continued investment,” said Mr Gachora.
This year’s Champions of Governance Awards were held on Friday 6th of November, 2015.
The recognition comes weeks after the bank was awarded the winners in the ‘Corporate Governance’ category at the14th Edition of the FiRe Awards. The awards held on October 23rd, at Windsor Hotel, saw NIC Bank come out on top of the other nominees in the category.
The FiRe Awards is promoted jointly by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).
