NIC participated in this year’s Junior Achievement Kenya Company Program Finals as part of the judging panel. The bank was represented by Thomas Macharia, Branch Business Manager from Karen Branch who served as a judge in the final competitions. Limuru Girls emerged overall winners of this year’s competition with a project on producing sleeping bags from chicken feathers. Each member of the club bagged a funded account courtesy of NIC Bank.
The JA Company Program is a 15-week course for High School students that is designed to inspire and nurture entrepreneurship skills, financial skills and work readiness skills amongst the youth. The program also augments school-based, work based and connecting activities for communities with school-to-work initiatives.
