Mr. Gachora has over 16 years of experience in banking. Before his appointment he was the Managing Director – Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Barclays Africa based in South Africa. Gachora has also served as the CEO of Absa Africa, Head of Africa for Absa Capital, Managing Director and Group Head at Bank of America Investment Banking, in North Carolina -United States, among others. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania, Masters and Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.
ALAN DODD – Executive Director, Corporate Banking, Corporate Business
Mr. Dodd has a BA(Hons) in Economics from Portsmouth Univerity,UK. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He has extensive regional and international banking experience, covering East and Southern Africa, Middle East and the Far East. He joined NIC Bank in January 2006 as Head of Corporate Banking, and was appointed to the NIC Board on 22nd February 2006.
SANKUL MANDAVIA – Director, Treasury
Before his appointment he was the Assistant General Manager Institutional Banking and Liability Management at Commercial Bank of Africa. He also served as Head of Treasury at First American Bank of Kenya. He holds a BSc. Business Administration from United States International University(USIU).
DAVID M KIAMBI – Director, Human Resources
Before his appointment he was the Group HR Manager at BAT Kenya. He has a B.Sc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi and an MBA-Employee Relations from the University of Leicester-UK.
LIVINGSTONE MURAGE – Group Company Secretary
Mr. Murage has 15 years experience in banking, mostly at AMBank. He has been with NIC Bank since the merger with AMBank. In addition to his duties as Group Company Secretary, Mr. Murage is also responsible for Administration and Legal Services.
JAMES WANYIKA – Director, Credit Risk
Mr. James Wanyika is the Director of Credit Risk at NIC Bank. Prior to his appointment, he was the Credit Officer and Risk Management Trainer for East Africa at Standard Chartered Bank. Mr. Wanyika has also worked as Head of Large Domestic Corporates at Standard Chartered Bank and Vice President in the Corporate Division Citibank NA.
Edgar Kalya – Director, Retail Banking
Mr. Kalya has 17 years experience in banking having worked for Barclays Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Central Bank of Kenya. Prior to his appointment, he was the acting Consumer Director in Barclays Bank of Kenya. He has held several other leadership roles in both BBK and SCB in the last 10 years of his career. Mr. Kalya has a BED Sc. degree from Egerton University Njoro, has completed an Advanced Management Program from Strathmore Business School and is currently undertaking an MBA from the University of Nairobi.
